GREEN CARD RENEWAL
A permanent resident card is valid for 10 years. We can submit it for renewal 6 months before it expires. USCIS may send you a letter granting an additional 3-year extension beyond your resident card’s expiration date.
If your card is lost or stolen, you can also apply for a new one through this process; we will just need to include a police report for the theft or loss.
After 5 years as a permanent resident, you can apply for citizenship. However, if you obtained your residency through marriage to a U.S. citizen spouse, you can apply after 3 years of residency.
